Day 7: Faithfulness

"Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, and the evidence of things not seen." Hebrews 11:1

Reflection

Faith is the idea of going beyond your fears and acting on what God has instilled in you. It’s about taking the first two steps and God taking the rest on. I knew with the calling that was placed on my life to help people and to make connections in the community and create partnerships that the devil was going to start attacking me, because that's what he does, he tries to distract and detract us from our callings. It may be that my life has been filled with a lot of negativity and roadblocks -- I've suffered cancer, been held up at gunpoint and forced in a trunk of a car, but one thing I can say is the Lord always brings me out. I am always victorious.

As adversity comes I know that in the end I will be able to tell my testimony and encourage others that, you may have a death sentence, but there is always God at the end of the tunnel.

Through all this, I realized that God always has my back. Even in the moments of devastating news, God still had my back, He still comforted me, and for that, I'm grateful. I trust God. I have faith in God that He's going to pour His blessing and His comfort over me. I feel like faith is trusting God when everything just crumbles, and being faithful to God even when you don't need Him, even when times are good. Being faithful to God and trusting Him to be your source of power and strength is what will always bring you through the storm

Prayer

God, we thank you for protecting us, for answering our prayers, God, we thank you for our faithfulness to you because without that, we can't commit to anything. God and we love you, we honor you, we praise you. We are all making sacrifices. God and we hope that you see that. It can be daunting to think about even getting up out of the bed and doing other things, being a mom, a wife, a sister, a friend. Working every day, trying to carve this out of our lives and to be healthy, God, but we know that everything that is great is because of you, God. We ask you to give us strength and courage.

Most of all, give us courage to know that we were made for this, we are made to be great, we were made to worship you, we were made to be just in the image of you God.

We are always going to be careful to give you the praise and the glory, and honor belongs to you, Jesus. In your name we pray, Amen.

Walking Assignment

Today, walk to a park, to school, or fitness center with a track, and walk eight laps around, that's two miles. There are times when it feels like life is taking you in circles, round and round, the same old struggles, and you feel defeated and you want to give up. Walk and remind yourself that God is God, and remain faithful to His word, and He will never leave you. If God never gives up on us, we owe it to Him never to give up on ourselves even in the face of doubt, fear, and past setbacks.
